你的月经颜色属于那种色号呢？

血的颜色是由血红蛋白的数量和含氧量所决定的。

血越鲜红代表血红蛋白含量和含氧量越高!

血暗红代表含氧量较低。

所以动脉血是鲜红色的，而静脉血是暗红色的。

月经血大部分由动脉组成，所以新鲜的经血是鲜红的。

1. 暗红色：正常颜色

新鲜的月经血是鲜红色的，但是在卫生棉上滞留一段时间后血红蛋白的含量会降低，慢慢变成暗红色。

2. 鲜红色：血热

当月经在卫生棉上呈现鲜红时，代表月经量多，还没等到经血氧化变成暗红色时，新的经血已经排除，所以你时刻看到鲜红色。中医说鲜红色的月经是因为血热，血液里有热邪，所以血流动很快，经血排得也快。

3. 淡红色：气血不足

淡红色的经血代表血红蛋白含量较低，使气血不足的表现。

4. 紫暗色 (血块状)：血瘀、寒

当身体寒气重或阳气不足的时候，不能推动气血运行，所以血液不能正常运行，变成紫暗色的瘀血。

5. 褐色：气血不足、血瘀

月经后期经血慢慢减少，变成褐色是正常的。但是一开始就出现褐色经血代表月经量偏少。气血不足会导致月经量减少，或血瘀阻止经血正常排出子宫造成月经量少。

What kind of period blood colour do you have?

In fact, the colour of period blood is determined by the amount of hemoglobin and oxygen content.

The brighter the blood, the higher the hemoglobin and oxygen content. Whereas, the darker the blood, the lower the oxygen content. Therefore arterial blood is bright red, and venous blood is dark red.

Period blood mostly made up of arteries, so it normally shows bright red.

Shades of period blood:

1.Dark red: Normal color

• Fresh period blood is bright red, however after the period blood stays on the sanitary pad for a longer period, the hemoglobin level drops and slowly turns darker.

2.Bright red: indicate blood heat

• When period blood shows bright red on sanitary pad, it means heavy menstrual flow. Before the period blood oxidizes to dark red, the new blood is discharged from uterus, that's why you always notice bright red on the sanitary pad. From Chinese medicine perspective, bright red period blood indicates blood heat. There is heat in the blood, so the blood flows quickly and discharges quickly.

3.Pale red: Qi and blood deficiency 

•  Pale red indicates low hemoglobin content.

4.Dark purple (blood clot period  blood): Blood stasis and cold

• When there is cold in your uterus, blood is stagnated and turns to blood clots in dark purple colour. 

5.Brown: Deficiency of qi and blood, blood stasis

• It is normal to turn brown at the end of the period. Brown period blood at the beginning of period means less blood flow. Lack of qi and blood can lead to reduced period blood, or blood stasis in uterus prevents normal discharge of period blood.
