最早的针灸针是用石头、竹子和动物骨头制成，用来刺激某些部位缓解疼痛。后来，才沿用金属(铜、青铜、金、银和铁)制造针灸针。古代的针比现代的粗。

如今，针灸针都是由不锈钢制成的，有不同的长度和宽度，从0.12-0.4毫米不等。细针产生的疼痛更少，并没有你想象中那么痛。

The earliest acupuncture needles were not made of stainless steel but of stone, bamboo and bone. It was used as acupressure tool to reduce pain. 

Later, needles were made from metal (copper, bronze, gold, silver and iron). Ancient needles are thicker than the modern ones.

Nowadays, needles are made of stainless steel and come in various lengths and gauges of width, varied from 0.12-0.4 mm. These fine needles create less pain and are not as painful as you think.
